Lip correction

Fuller or smaller lips

Making lips fuller or smaller is a relatively simple procedure. The cupid’s bow and the white line on the border of the upper lip can also be accentuated.

Lip reduction: thinner lips

When the plastic surgeon reduces full lips, he removes – under (mostly) local anesthesia - the excess tissue on the inner side of the lip. People with a large upper lip or a full, sagging lower lip, can have them corrected. The treatment shows no visible scars.

Lip enhancement: fuller lips

This can be done either surgically, or by using fillers.

FILLERS

The safest and most reliable filler used nowadays is hyaluronic acid. The treatment takes about 10 minutes. After the injection, your lips might be a bit reddish and swollen. Also an small blue is possible. The result is immediately visible and last for about 1 year.
Own fat tissue can also be used to fill lips. This fat tissue is mostly removed from the area around the navel, and gets a special treatment by which the fat cells keep their vitality. After lipofilling the lips are swollen for about 1 week.  Sometimes it is necessary to perform the treatment in two phases. This procedure can be carried out under local anesthesia.

SURGICAL LIP ENHANCEMENT

To enhance a thin lip - mostly the upper lip - the mucous membrane is surgically brought outside. This procedure can be done under local anesthesia and leaves an tiny scar just at the vermillion border.

Liplift

With age, the upper lip loses volume but besides that, it also becomes longer. The distance between the nose and the vermillion border increases. Most people are not aware of that but a lip lift is an excellent method for lip rejuvenation. The operation can be performed under local anesthesia. The inconspicuous resulting scar is positioned in the fold just under the nose. A lip lift can be combined with laser treatment for wrinkle reduction.
